On their web site, you'll find articles by some of the best contemporary thinkers in the fields of population stabilization, national revitalization, economic sustainabilty and resource conservation. Readers can use their web site to lobby Congressional leaders, or join a live conversation in their chat room. Center For Immigration Studies The Center for Immigration Studies is an independent, non-partisan, non-profit American research organization founded in 1985. It is the only U.S. think tank devoted exclusively to research and policy analysis of the economic, social, demographic, fiscal, and other impacts of immigration on the United States. It is the Center's mission to expand the base of public knowledge and understanding of the need for an immigration policy that gives first concern to the broad national interest. The Center is animated by a pro-immigrant, low-immigration vision which seeks fewer immigrants but a warmer welcome for those admitted.
Federation for American Immigration Reform The Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) is a national, nonprofit, public-interest, membership organization of concerned citizens who share a common belief that our nation's immigration policies must be reformed to serve the national interest. FAIR seeks to improve border security, to stop illegal immigration, and to promote immigration levels consistent with the national interest—more traditional rates of about 300,000 a year. (See FAIR's web site for more details)
Migration Watch UK Migrationwatch UK is an independent think tank which has no links to any political party or organisation. It is chaired by Sir Andrew Green, a former UK Ambassador to Saudi Arabia. "We have a distinguished Advisory Council from diverse ethnic and professional backgrounds. We entirely accept that genuine refugees should be welcomed, but nowadays those seeking asylum comprise only about 6% of foreign immigration into Britain. We also recognise that many immigrants have made a valuable contribution to our society in terms of both skills and diversity. However, our present immigrant communities are not the issue. Rather, the question now is whether we wish to see immigration add nearly six million to our population over the next 30 years, given that England is already the second most crowded country in Europe (after Holland)." (See the Migration Watch UK web site for more details.)
Minnesotans For Sustainability As the Home Page of the web site indicates, "Almost all of the information presented is national (concerned with all of the U.S.) and international in scope. See the immigration issue under the U.S. Population Section.
Population Institute of Canada The Population Institute of Canada aims to encourage responsible population measures, at home and abroad. It advocates a population policy for Canada that is rationally based on Canada’s future carrying capacity. It works to promote public and governmental awareness of the challenges and risks posed both by population growth and ever increasing consumption. It supports foreign aid programmes that offer the most effective family planning measures appropriate to the needs and wishes of intended recipient countries. It believes that population size will determine the quality of life of all humans and the health of the web of life on Earth.
Project U.S.A. ProjectUSA--advocating an immigration time-out for a moderate and sustainable immigration policy
The Social Contract The Social Contract Press is an American educational and publishing organization advocating open discussion of such related issues as population size and rate of growth, protection of the environment and precious resources, limits on immigration, as well as preservation and promotion of a shared American language and culture. The Social Contract quarterly journal publishes articles, essays and book reviews on these interrelated topics. An archives site facilitates search among all previous issues. The Social Contract Press bookstore offers new books, videos and charts by such authors as Garrett Hardin and Roy Beck, along with reprints of classic texts dealing with our areas of interest. Immigrant numbers and immigration policies rank high in the activities and concerns of The Social Contract enterprises. We favor immigration, but at much lower, more traditional levels. We are in favor of fewer admissions in order to reduce the rate of America's population growth, protect jobs, preserve the environment, and foster assimilation.
